Hotels.com failed us again. This hotel was very disappointing. The staff was kind but that did not do enough to make up for the rest of our stay. The room was old and filthy. There were stains on the chairs and floor. My children and I wouldn’t even walk around in our socks in the room. Though the hotel offered a free breakfast, there was nothing left to eat aside from toast, cereal (with only soy milk) and fruit. The hot meal was nothing but only a small amount of egg substitute and sausage. Though the hotel is close to Apple Hill we will never stay here again. The 2.5 stars is generous. The 7.1 booking rating is misleading!

I got her like 20 mins to check in late for a wedding and they wouldn’t let me check in. Once I finally was able to. The hotel is dirty and disgusting. The bed is old with something they call pillows. They are not pillows more like couch Cousins they cover with a pillow case. Everything is just dirty and the place smells.

We were a family of dozens who were evacuated due to the Caldor fire in late August. The staff worked tremendously hard to meet each of our needs and kept their cool while providing us lodging. Many employees went beyond the call of duty. They were: Holly, Nicholas and Alfonso and others I can’t remember right now.

I believe the stay was typical for your current hotel stay. The employees they have were very friendly and professional but the hotel was very understaffed for the demand. Towels were impossible to come by unless you were lucky, the hot tub barely worked, there were definitely maintenance issues (funky doorknob, lights that wouldn't turn on, etc. There are not a ton of options in Placerville and the hotel was full. Our room was clean and as quiet as you can get when right off a highway. Lots of parking, a good serve yourself breakfast and I have to give kudos to the staff who were VERY helpful and professional even when they were being besieged by people who were understandably inconvenienced by lack of staff (which is the fault of management who filled up a hotel without enough staff to handle the job). This is the current reality of travel given the staffing issues in the industry. Be forewarned going in and make sure you treat the staff that is there with some respect, realize your travel dollars don't go very far and plan accordingly.

After check-in got to room and had a king bed and a sofa bed couch they didn't have a room left with two beds. And we have three people. Don't even bother with a sofa bed couch if you ever have the need for more than one bed in a room for an extra person or so . the mattress is probably as hard as the floor and about 2 inches thick at best with coil Springs coming through and the couch itself was horribly dirty and dog hair all over it so you wouldn't even want to sleep or sit on top of it either! Went down to the pool about 9:30 pm to relax with a glass of wine but couldn't even do that because of four screaming and loud older children. their parents right there not saying anything to them to not be so loud. Other guests around the pool were even asking the children to please be more quiet. But all requests were ignored by the children and the parents. Called the front desk they said they can't do anything about it until 10 p.m. and said they've already had many complaints about these kids screaming and yelling! they told other guess. Complained the same thing they can't enforce the kids to be quiet until 10 pm. Even at that 10 p.m. came and went and finally somebody had to go in and get the front desk guy to actually come out and enforce it about 10 15 pm The next morning got up to shower we had one towel for three people. After Chasing the maid down the hall she said they don't have any more towels until later and I'd have to go to the front desk to get pool towels. Walked all the way down to the front desk stories! To get towels from the front desk and he gave me 3 pool towels because that's all they had left! Walk back up to the room up four flights of stairs Because by the way there are no elevators at all in this hotel nor is there any air conditioning in the hallways or the stairwells so they were super hot! At exactly 11:01 we got a phone call from the front desk asking if we were going to be checking out and I said yes. Two minutes later we got a knock at the door from one of the maids we told them we would be just a few more minutes! Literally two minutes later another maid came knocking at the door we said we're leaving hang on a minute. And then about 2 minutes later another maid came to the door and said check out time is at 11 its 11:07. I said well if I didn't have to go chase down towels for 20 minutes we would have been out of here by now. She said there is only one towel per person right now. I let her know there were three people in the room. We only had one towel and two hand towels and washcloths. She proceeded to tell me there should not be three people in the room this room was only for two people which it wasn't that's why we booked a king with a sofa bed. because we needed a place for 3 to sleep and it stated online haven't slept three to four and unfortunately was the last one last! She rolled her eyes and said well I know that this room had two towels in it and said check out time once again is 11 am. I told her by sitting here and you arguing with me for 5 minutes I could have been out of here. She said just leave the door open and I will be right back to start cleaning. We left two minutes later! Was halfway to the airport which was approximately 20 minutes later and I got a phone call from the hotel on my cell phone from the front desk asking once again if we were going to be leaving the room anytime soon! I told him we were a half way to the Sacramento Airport! I will never be staying there again and would say I travel a lot and that was probably one of the worst Hotel experiences I've ever had! Between the service, the dirty rooms, lack of towels and rude Maids wasn't worth the $300 a night that we paid for it which was a joke in ! I think at this point I wouldn't even stay there if they gave it to me free. Horrible

Sofa sleeper bad. Employees professional, kind, pleasant, very helpful. Other guests kind, nice, helpful, opening door and holding it open when someone had their hands full, helping elderly and disabled people carry things down the stairs.
