Fawlty Towers
I was under the impression Fawlty Towers was situated in Torquay, but the complete cast can be found in Bournemouth. Avoid this hotel like the plague.
Bathrooms are dirty, old fashioned in the wrong sense of the word and incredibly cramped (room sizes are misrepresented on booking sites). The wiring looked dangerous. Hotel service is non-existent. Most rooms are small and look out over concrete and the parking lot. Corridors have a damp smell and the carpets inside and outside the rooms are dirty and worn. No lift to the part of the building I stayed in. The cleaning staff starts very early in the morning by shouting through the corridors, banging on doors and making as much noise as possible to get everybody out. Bed linen had blood stains and other stains I wouldn't like to know what it represented.
The booking was not in their system (happens a lot, according to the unhelpful staff), be warned that in this way they try to charge you double for a night you already paid for.
Hope this chain goes bankrupt on short notice as it is one of the rotten apples of the hotel industry. With the amount of hotels available in Bournemouth, you can certainly find a much better hotel than this.
