The lighting in the room was a problem. Apparently they had put in non-dimmable LED lights behind dimmers, so the lights didn't dim, even started flashing, etc. I notified staff about this, but they couldn't solve the problem. Later when I was already home again, I got an email from the Guest Services Executive who said he was very sorry and that he had asked the Chief Engineer to solve this problem. So when you read this, it might be solved already, but for this room price, I would expect the lighting to be working as it should or otherwise to be fixed the same or next day when I ask to. I considered going to a shop and buying some dimmable LED lights myself.
Apart from that, the hotel was very good. Staff is very friendly. The hotel is next to the Tower Bridge and reasonably close to many other sights in London, so certainly recommendable.
Forget about renting a car. Take public transport or a taxi or rent a bike or walk. Taking taxis is very easy with the Gett app. Traffic in central London is almost always a mess, lots of traffic jams, also outside rush hour, so make sure you take plenty of time, also with a taxi, certainly when you have to be somewhere at a certain time, for example for guided tours. Speed limit is 20 mph or 32 km/h everywhere in central London, also on the wider roads. Parking is very expensive, also for hotel guests and don't forget the Congestion Charge.
