There was a persistent smell in the corridor outside the rooms and in my room. ? stale cigarette smoke. I stayed the following night at another Premier Inn in another city with no smell at all.This Premier Inn in Torquay is “tired”, needs a refresh - paint, carpets and curtains. my allergies got worse inside the room and corridor outside the room ? cleaning products used or related to the lingering stale smell or possibly tge air conditioning. The bedroom windows would not open and i was unable to get fresh air. Not good. Finally I was greeted on my first morning at breakfast by the person in charge who greeted me by checking the time on his watch, implying I was late for breakfast.I arrived for breakfast 30 minutes before breakfast finished and had a continental breakfast. His displeasure was evident until I mentioned this to him directly then he stopped looking at his watch. Thus is not how a guest should be treated and I hope this individual will be better trained to deal with guests appropriately.
