This was my first and likely last stay at a Hyatt Place. Unfortunately, it fell short in several key areas, especially when compared to the Sheraton Getaway next door. First, I was surprised by the $100 per night deposit, something not clearly stated during booking. If it was mentioned on Hotels.com, it wasn’t prominent. My Sheraton stay didn’t require any deposit. The noise level was another major issue. Doors slam loudly, and you can hear them throughout the night. On top of that, airplane noise was constant. The Sheraton, just next door, didn’t have this issue. The in-room air conditioner was also loud, cycling on and off all night, unreliable, especially in the evenings. It frequently disconnected and was too slow for basic use. The mini fridge was fully stocked with overpriced items, leaving no room for personal use. Even the bottled water came with a price list. There was also no microwave in the room or on upper floors, only one on the ground level.
To make things worse, my deposit refund has been a nightmare. I was told 5–6 days, then 7 more due to a “system error,” and now I’m being told to wait 30 days. Still waiting. Overall, I expected much more from a Hyatt. I won’t be returning.
